Physically expandable microspheres are tiny spherical plastic particles. Themicrosphere consists of a polymer shell and the gas it encloses. When heated, the internal pressure of the gas increases, and the thermoplastic shell becomes softer, resulting in an astonishing increase in the size of themicrosphere. The gas remains inside the ball.
